An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
Customers / Students voluntarily assume all risk related to the coronavirus by attending Master Barbers Institute.

Precautions Being Taken: 
  • All students and Clients are required to wear a mask while being on Master Barbers Institute property
  • Temperature Check/ wellness check list 
  • Barber Stations are 6 Feet apart for proper Social Distancing 
  • Close from 1 pm- 2pm for cleaning

   Master Barbers Institute is Barber College located in the Heart of Oak Cliff. We are a family run Educational Institution, with over 25 years of Instructional barbering experience for our Sr. Instructor Mr. Gene Garcia.
   With a family friendly environment to enjoy learning a new trade, with a lot of hands on experience and theory based classes.


Interested in becoming a Texas Licensed Barber here is all you need to know:

Who: Any one 16 yrs of age or older, with all required documents

What: You will be learning the trade of barbering including Hot towel shaves, A variety of modern hairstyles, how to build clientele. 
Become a professional in 10 months 
practicing on models daily for precision cuts and services
Learn all theory work from the latest barbering materials

Why: Becoming a Class A Barber will lead to being an independent worker, and independent business owner. Be able to work at any Barbershops or Salons of your choice in the state of Texas.

When: Register Tue-Friday from 9-12am with all required paperwork to begin Classes Every First Tuesday of the Month.
Starting classes Monthly 

Where: All practical / theory is held during the 5 hours daily, on campus, no traveling to different locations 

How: Complete 1000 hours required by TDLR 
Pass written portion of PSI exams upon completion
Pass Practical portion of PSI exams upon completion
Renewed license every 2 yr to keep license

 The Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation (Commission) adopts amendments to the Barbers program rules at (16 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 82, §§82.10, 82.20 - 82.22, 82.28, 82.52, 82.70, 82.72, 82.74, 82.80, 82.120, and new rule §82.77). The adopted rules implement necessary changes as required by House Bill 2847, 86th Legislature, Regular Session (2019), increasing the inspection cycle for establishments that provide certain services, providing for the regulation of remote service businesses and digitally prearranged remote services, including recommendations from the Advisory Board’s workgroups to reduce regulatory burdens by removing outdated requirements for schools, and providing more clarity to the industry by using updated and standardized terminology. The adopted rules also lower the number of hours required to obtain a Class A Barber license from 1,500 to 1,000 hours.
